Babies Who Need Homes

Birth moms looking to find homes for their babies...

  Sarah

Sarah is 21 years old, 5’8,” 175 lbs, high school graduate; African-American; single mom, unmarried, parenting 2-yr-old daughter; no Native American ancestry; EDC (by ultrasound: 11/10/2011); baby boy; Medi-Cal qualified; is receiving pre-natal care; no drugs or alcohol; 4 or 5 cigarettes/day during 1st trimester, but stopped when she learned about pregnancy. Sarah is choosing adoption because she lacks the resources needed to parent two children; has family support.

Sarah wants to match with a traditional or non-traditional adopting family; non-African-American family ok; would like exchange of pictures and letters twice annually but isn’t interested in post-birth visits.

Sarah’s baby’s birth father is African-American; 27 years old; alleged natural father; is not the father of Sarah’s daughter; has 3 children by different moms; is aware of Sarah’s pregnancy. Sarah has discussed adoption with baby’s father; is unsure whether he will agree with adoption plan. Birth father currently is in jail pending disposition of felony robbery and battery charges.

Adoption budget: housing ($366.00/month), food ($200.00/month), cell phone service ($55.00/month); transportation ($100.00/month) -- pro-rated from date of match until one month post-birth or two months post-birth if delivery is by c-section; plus one-time payment for maternity clothes ($500.00).
